UNLOCKING TRANSPARENCY
From branch to bottle
DID YOU KNOW?
CONNECTION LOST
Despite there being over 50,000 edible plant species, only 15 contribute to 90% of our food. Industrial farming and the dominance of 'Big Food' have streamlined our food sources, disconnecting us from nature.
Deceptive marketing, coupled with our busy lives, leaves us unaware of our food's origin and its journey, leading to contamination and health issues.
To restore our connection to mother nature and her diverse sources of food, we need transformative bottom-up change, challenging the current structure favouring Big Food over our health and the planet.
Our Journey
Born and raised in Kenya, we embraced a vibrant, natural diet sourced from local markets if not our own garden, fostering a deep connection between our bodies, the earth, and our communities.
Upon moving to the UK, we experienced a decline in food diversity due to confusion and growing mistrust for supermarket products. Not surprisingly, others also resonated with this struggle in face of all the deceptive marketing and overwhelming innovation crowding our shelves.
Last year, during a trip back to Kenya we developed a breakthrough idea that would create the symbiotic relationship reminiscent of our Kenyan roots. Instead of merely transacting with farmers, we'd collaborate to create new sources of shared value and make this all transparent to consumers, empowering them to make the right decisions.
Through this, together, we would restructure incentives along the supply chain, rebalancing power between farmers and big corporations, and consequently restore our diverse sources of natural foods.
Our Mission
"We strive to re-connect humanity to the most authentic, natural and delicious foods that mother nature has to offer, by unlocking radical transparency and restructuring incentives through our food supply chains , to give power back to small food producers while providing consumers with 100% confidence in making decisions about the food they consume - and as a result, restore the health of our planet, our communities and ourselves"
Founding of Omega Pressery
At the foothills of Mt Kenya, Omega Pressery emerged with a mission to bridge the gap between consumers and smallholder farmers.
At the heart of Kenya's best Avocado and Macadamia farms, we discovered the waste caused by surplus produce due to cosmetic imperfections. This led us to partner with farmers, transforming these 'wonky' harvests into high-quality, Omega bursting, Extra virgin, and Cold-pressed oils.
By doing so, we've not only prevented waste but also created a new income stream for farmers, fostering sustainable agriculture.
This is just the beginning…
We plan to apply the same philosophy to a wide range of food supply chains, disrupting 'Big Food' and bringing back only the most natural and pure sources of nutrition to our plate. Stay tuned.
